3/12 Next PTA meeting, College Board (creators of the SAT) will speak to BSGE parents

Save the Date: College Board (SAT creators) coming to BSGE to discuss how to improve student scores.

We hope you all will mark March 12 at 6:30 pm on you calendars for an important guest speaker. Shameek Robinson, K-12 Educational Manager from the College Board (creators of the SAT and SAT subject tests) has agreed to speak with BSGE parents at our monthly PTA meeting about how best to prepare our students for the SAT and SAT subject tests. We have asked him to share his thoughts and advice on tools and strategies to help improve student SAT scores, including discussing resources (many of them free) available through the College Board website. This event is for parents with students of any age! I have attached the flyer for the event.
Many thanks!
Nancy and Andrea

Blood Drive at BSGE 2/14 8:00AM-2:00PM

Announcing BSGE’s Valentine’s Day Blood Drive!
On Thursday, February 14th from 8:00am-2:00pm, BSGE’s Helping Hands Committee in partnership with the NY Blood Center will be hosting our winter blood drive.  We hope that many of you will donate blood as NYC is currently experiencing a severe blood shortage due to Hurricane Sandy.  Your single contribution can help save up to three lives.  To sign up for an appointment on the blood bus, contact Peter Wilson: (718) 361-5275 or peterwilsonnyc@yahoo.com.  Please be specific as to when you would like to schedule your donation during the allotted hours. Students must be at least 16 years of age to donate blood with written consent from their parents. Let’s beat last year’s record of 39 collected pints!
